Welcome to the Karlmarx Duncan Campaign Volunteer Program.
Thank you for your willingness to volunteer in support of the campaign of Karlmarx Duncan, NDC Vice Chairman, Hopeful for the Effia Constituency.
Volunteers are the foundation of every successful campaign. Your commitment, dedication, and service help us connect with communities, strengthen our party structures, and promote responsible leadership.
This volunteer policy explains the expectations, responsibilities, and standards that apply to everyone who volunteers with our campaign.
1. Our Commitment
The Karlmarx Duncan Campaign is committed to creating a respectful, inclusive, safe, and professional environment for all volunteers.
We value every volunteer regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, religion, or social background.
Our campaign is built on:

2. Purpose of the Volunteer Program
The Volunteer Programme exists to:
- Support campaign activities.
- Strengthen grassroots engagement.
- Assist with community outreach.
- Promote voter education and lawful campaign messaging.
- Encourage youth and women’s participation.
- Build stronger relationships across the Effia Constituency.
- Support constituency events and logistics.
- Promote the campaign’s vision and values.
3. Volunteer Eligibility
Individuals wishing to volunteer should:
- Be at least 18 years of age, or have appropriate parental or guardian consent where applicable.
- Provide accurate registration information.
- Agree to comply with this Volunteer Policy.
- Conduct themselves lawfully and respectfully.
- Support the campaign’s values and objectives.
The campaign reserves the right to accept or decline volunteer applications.
4. Volunteer Responsibilities
Volunteers are expected to:
- Represent the campaign professionally.
- Treat everyone with courtesy and respect.
- Promote accurate campaign information.
- Follow lawful instructions from campaign coordinators.
- Respect confidentiality where applicable.
- Protect campaign property and materials.
- Wear campaign identification where required.
- Report concerns or misconduct promptly.
Volunteers should always act in a manner that reflects positively on the campaign.
5. Code of Conduct
Every volunteer must:
- Demonstrate honesty and integrity.
- Respect the rights and dignity of others.
- Avoid abusive, discriminatory, or offensive behavior.
- Comply with campaign policies.
- Protect confidential information.
- Avoid conflicts of interest.
- Work collaboratively with fellow volunteers.
6. Respectful Campaigning
Volunteers must:
- Campaign peacefully.
- Respect political opponents.
- Avoid spreading false or misleading information.
- Refrain from intimidation, harassment, or violence.
- Follow all applicable laws and lawful directives during campaign activities.
The campaign does not tolerate hate speech, threats, or unlawful conduct.
7. Community Engagement
Volunteers represent the campaign within the community.
They are encouraged to:
- Listen respectfully to community members.
- Promote positive dialogue.
- Assist with outreach programs.
- Encourage civic participation.
- Support lawful community initiatives.
- Build trust through service and professionalism.
8. Campaign Donations
Some volunteers may assist by directing supporters to official campaign donation channels.
Volunteers must not:
- Request personal payments into private accounts.
- Collect cash donations without authorization.
- Issue unofficial receipts.
- Represent themselves as financial officers unless formally appointed.
Any donation collected during campaign activities must follow official campaign procedures.
9. Compliance with Ghanaian Law
The campaign is committed to complying with the laws of the Republic of Ghana.
Volunteers must also respect all applicable laws relating to political activities and campaign conduct.
With regard to campaign funding:
- The Constitution of Ghana and the Political Parties Act, 2000 (Act 574), prohibit foreign citizens and foreign-controlled entities from making contributions, donations, or loans to political parties.
- Only persons legally permitted under Ghanaian law should be encouraged to donate through the campaign’s official channels.
- Volunteers must never knowingly assist in accepting donations that appear to contravene applicable law.
If a volunteer becomes aware of a potentially unlawful donation or fundraising activity, it should be reported immediately to campaign leadership.
10. Use of Campaign Property
Campaign materials, including:
- T-shirts
- Flyers
- Posters
- Banners
- Identification cards
- Digital media
- Social media content
- Campaign logos
must only be used for authorized campaign purposes.
Campaign property remains the property of the campaign and should be returned when requested.
11. Social Media Guidelines
Volunteers are encouraged to promote the campaign responsibly.
When posting online:
- Share verified campaign information.
- Be respectful in discussions.
- Avoid personal attacks.
- Do not publish confidential campaign information.
- Clearly distinguish personal opinions from official campaign statements unless authorized to speak on behalf of the campaign.
12. Confidentiality
During your volunteer service, you may have access to information relating to:
- Campaign planning
- Volunteer records
- Donor information
- Event logistics
- Internal communications
Such information should not be disclosed without authorization.
This obligation continues even after you stop volunteering.
13. Health and Safety
The campaign is committed to providing a safe environment for volunteers.
Volunteers should:
- Follow safety instructions.
- Report accidents promptly.
- Use campaign equipment responsibly.
- Avoid activities that could endanger themselves or others.
14. Data Protection
Volunteer information is handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
Information collected may include:
- Name
- Phone Number
- Email Address
- Residential Area
- Skills
- Availability
- Branch Affiliation
- Emergency Contact (if provided)
This information is used solely for campaign administration, volunteer coordination, and communication.
15. Ending Volunteer Participation
Volunteer participation may end:
- At the volunteer’s request.
- Upon completion of campaign activities.
- If campaign needs change.
- If this Volunteer Policy is materially breached.
- Where continued participation is no longer appropriate.
The campaign reserves the right to suspend or end volunteer participation where necessary.
16. Limitation of Liability
Volunteers participate voluntarily.
While the campaign will take reasonable steps to provide a safe environment, volunteers remain responsible for acting with reasonable care and following campaign guidance.
Nothing in this policy limits rights or obligations that cannot legally be excluded under Ghanaian law.
17. Changes to This Policy
This volunteer policy may be updated from time to time.
